Step 1: Download preset(s)
A PDF preset is a group of settings that affect the process of creating a PDF. You can download .joboptions files for the most commonly used PDF presets from the table below. Please note that these profiles do not have TrackChanges unless you choose this feature after uploading them to CtrlPrint.

Step 2: Add (and use) .joboptions file on the CtrlPrint page:
- Login to CtrlPrint as an Administrator. If you are not an Administrator, please contact your project manager or agency contact.
- Select the project.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the PDF Profiles box and click "Add PDF Preset".
- Click "Choose file", and locate the PDF preset you wish to use. Make sure to choose whether you would like TrackChanges included or not.
- You need to create a new version of the chapters where you want to use the new PDF preset.
To do that, download your chapter for editing and then immediately save it back to the server.
- The new PDF preset will now be available next time you wish to download the chapters. You can find more information on how to download PDFs here.
Create a custom PDF preset in InDesign:
Custom PDF presets can also be created in Adobe InDesign and added to CtrlPrint.
- Open Adobe InDesign and choose File->Adobe PDF Presets->Define...
- Click "New…".
- Name your new profile and define the settings that you want. If you would like to include a timestamp this setting is called Page Information and is found among the Marks and Bleeds options.
Note that you will need to tick the option "Hyperlinks" in the General/Include section to include links in your PDFs. - Click OK and in the dialog box select the preset that you have created from the list. Then click Save As...
- Name your .joboptions file and choose a location to save it.
See Adobe's guide for different PDF settings available here if you need more information.
