How Hyperlinks Work in CtrlPrint
In CtrlPrint, projects are designed to facilitate collaboration by splitting documents into separate chapters. While this structure simplifies teamwork, it also means that hyperlinking within a table of contents or menu bar isn't possible during the editing process. This limitation exists because hyperlinks depend on the entire report being contained in a single document, whereas CtrlPrint operates with individual chapter files.
To include hyperlinks in your table of contents or other sections of your report, you could choose one of the options below and do it outside of CtrlPrint environment.
Work with InDesign Files
- Download all the InDesign files for your project from CtrlPrint.
- Merge the individual chapters into a single InDesign document.
- Add hyperlinks to the table of contents in InDesign.
- Export the final report as a PDF with embedded hyperlinks included.
Extract and Merge a PDF
- Once your report is complete, use CtrlPrint to generate a merged PDF of all chapters.
- Open the merged PDF using a PDF editor, such as Adobe Acrobat.
- Add hyperlinks to the table of contents or menu bar directly within the PDF.
